T O D — Artist Biography (2026)
T O D is a musical project founded in 2013.
At its heart is Régis Delbroucq, composer and performer, and the driving creative force behind the project.
For the lyrics, he regularly collaborates with Freddy Viau, particularly on French-language songs, as well as Emma Darmon, while also writing some of the English lyrics himself. Depending on the project, he works with various musicians, mainly from the Troyes region in France.
Rooted in pop and rock, T O D explores a musical universe shaped by both the 1970s and contemporary sounds. Its wide-ranging British, American and European influences include David Bowie, Kate Bush, David Sylvian, Pink Floyd, Get Well Soon, Rammstein, Anna Ternheim, Thom Yorke and Musée Mécanique, among many others. French chanson also plays an important role, with artists such as Jean Guidoni, Alain Souchon, Barbara, Zazie, William Sheller, Mylène Farmer, Étienne Daho, Jean-Louis Murat, Benjamin Biolay and Keren Ann.
T O D is the culmination — or perhaps more accurately, the continuation — of a long artistic journey. This journey has included the formation of several bands, the composition of numerous theatre scores — including more than twenty original productions for the Théâtre des Bonnes Langues and Parciparlà companies — as well as music written for other performers.
The first album, Exil (2013), was largely built around instrumental pieces originally composed for the stage.
Following a more introspective second album, Disconnected (2016), T O D brought together musicians from Troyes in 2017 to record Demain dès l'aube, a more rock-oriented album under the artistic direction of Christophe Bourgouin.
Released in 2021, Les jours de Vénus marked a return to the world of French chanson. Recorded in the Aube region, the album drew inspiration from the 16th-century poet Amadis Jamyn, born in Chaource, whose poetry provided the lyrics for the title track.
Morning Celebration, the project's fifth album, offered a more intimate, sometimes cinematic atmosphere. Released in spring 2023, it was recorded mainly at the artist's personal studio near Troyes, before being mixed and mastered by Cyril Orcel in Brussels.
In March 2023, Régis Delbroucq was invited to take part in an international conference dedicated to Champagne-region poets of the 16th and 17th centuries. For the occasion, he composed a second song based on a poem by Amadis Jamyn, Ode à la paix. This work formed part of a broader initiative to bring renewed attention to these literary figures.
The album Seuls nous perdons was released in October 2024.
In 2025, T O D continued exploring instrumental forms with Slow Motion Variations, a collection of ten contemplative pieces inspired by Slow Motion, a track originally featured on Disconnected. Piano, cello and atmospheric textures shape a musical landscape in which sound unfolds freely, through an intimate and cinematic approach.
In May 2026, T O D released Disconnected Reworked. Ten years after its original release, the project's second album was revisited in a process that went far beyond simple remastering. The original compositions were reimagined, sometimes radically transformed, through new arrangements and a more assertive, often rock-driven production.
Mixed and mastered by Cyril Orcel, the album offers a fresh perspective on songs whose meaning and emotional resonance have evolved with time and experience. Rather than looking back nostalgically, Disconnected Reworked reflects the musical and artistic evolution of T O D.
At the same time, T O D has completed a new project, The Unreal, scheduled for release soon. Created in close collaboration with cellist Andreï Kivu, the album represents another significant step in the project's artistic journey.
More experimental, darker and introspective, The Unreal moves away from traditional song structures to explore sonic territories where electronic music, cello, instrumental textures and occasionally disembodied voices intertwine.
Across eight compositions, The Unreal questions the boundaries between reality and imagination, memory and oblivion, presence and absence. It also explores the persistence of consciousness and what might remain beyond physical existence.
A singular and sometimes unsettling universe, in which music becomes an immersive, almost meditative experience.
Through these two projects, T O D continues to pursue an independent artistic vision, where each album becomes a world of its own, while remaining connected to a musical identity shaped over the years.
